The cluster j ज् + J ञ्, that appears in words like jJAnam ज्ञानम् and rAjJA राज्ञा, is mispronounced by many people as nyA न्या, gnyA ग्न्या, JJa ञ्ञ and in other ways. The problem here is that most modern Indian languages have an aJja अञ्ज sound, but no words with J ञ् before a vowel. Also, when the letter Ja ञ appears in those languages (which happens seldom), it must be pronounced nya न्य.
Most experts teach that the best pronunciation of jJA ज्ञा is j~j~A ज्ँज्ँआ, with a lenghtened, nasalized j ज्. I guess that if you are a Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese speaker, saying JJA ञ्ञा is fine too.
