Rule sasajuSoruH has two meanings. The most important one is "replace padafinal s स् with /ru". The other meaning is of vedic application only —
sajuS सजुष् is an obsolete Vedic word for "with". By sasajuSoruH, its S ष् is replaced with 'ru' — so when the veda says sajUr devebhiH सजूर्देवेभिः, that means devais saha देवैः सह "with gods".
Rgveda ऋग्वेद 5:51 —sajUr vishvebhir devebhir ashvibhyAm uSasA sajUH |
सजूर्विस्ह्वेभिर्देवेभिरस्ह्विभ्यामुषसा सजूः ।
A yAhy agne atrivat sute raNa ||
आ याह्यग्ने अत्रिवत्सुते रण ॥
"with all the gods, the Asvins and with Dawn
come, Agni, as earlier with Atri, so enjoy the juice."
The word devebhiH देवेभिः has bhis भिस् by bahulaJchand....
