@some gam liT

gam गम् reduplicates to **jagam- जगम् before /liT.

When the /liT starts with a vowel and is /kit, rule gamahanaj... makes **jagm- जग्म्, as in

**jagam- जगम् + /liT /jhi
→ **jagam- जगम् + /us
→ **jagm- जग्म् + /us
→ **jagmus जग्मुस् "they3 went"

and in

**jagam- जगम् + /liT /tas
→ **jagam- जगम् + /atus
→ **jagm- जग्म् + /atus

→ **jagmatus जग्मतुस् "they2 went"

And actually all /kit /liT start with a vowel, because the consonant /liT get /iT

**jagam- जगम् + /ma

jagm जग्म् + /ma by gamahanaj...
jagm जग्म् + ima इम by RtobhAradv... (maybe — see iTofliT)
!**jagmima जग्मिम "we went"

Why do the consonant /kit /liT get /iT? Isn't gam गम् an /aniT root?

It is, but rule kRsRbhRvRst... says that nearly all roots become /seT before /liT.
