A /Nopadeza root is a root that starts with N ण् in the /dhAtupATha. You must invariably replace the N ण् with n न् —

Nad णद् + /laT /tip
→ nad नद् + /laT /tip

In other words — there are no true N ण् roots. The roots that start with N ण् in the /dhAtupATha (such as Nad णद्), are actually n न् roots (nad नद्). They are taught with N ण् merely to show that this n न् becomes N ण् sometimes —
