(Don't mix up this rule with rossupi "true r stays before /sup'".)

Exception to < ahanx.

I don't understand the wording of this sUtra. Looks like either this one or rossupi doesn't make sense.

this rule, adding inherited words, splits as

ahnas अह्नस् + ras रस् + asupi
असुपि
(replace ahan अहन् with r र् when not before a /sup ending)

Compare that with rossupi, which splits as

ros रोस् + visarjanIyas विसर्जनीयस् + supi
सुपि
(replace only /ru with /H when before the ending /sup')
